Hiroshi Fukami (97), who lives in Naha City, self-published the "Fukami Hiroku Art Collection" this month, which includes 97 of his own haiku and about 130 Japanese paintings. He started studying haiku at the age of 63 and Japanese painting at the age of 75, and compiled the results of his studies. He currently works mainly on "haiga" (art paintings) to accompany haiku.
