Kelowna Man, 97, Dies After Mobility Scooter Collision With Charter Bus
A 97-year-old Kelowna man died following a collision between his mobility scooter and a charter bus; police state impairment and criminality are not believed to be factors.
A 97-year-old man died after a collision between his mobility scooter and a charter bus in Kelowna on Benvoulin Road near Rampone Road at 1:30 p.m on Sunday.
The victim was transported to Kelowna General Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries; police state criminality and impairment are not believed to be factors in the crash.
An RCMP collision reconstructionist assisted in documenting the scene, and authorities are seeking witnesses or dashcam footage for the Kelowna RCMP General Investigation Section.
No bus occupants were injured in the collision, and Kelowna RCMP media relations officer Cpl. Lang offered condolences to the family, noting support services are available.
Police continue to investigate the collision, and those affected are encouraged to contact the Kelowna RCMP Detachment for professional assistance through available support services.
