Can-Am Launches New Generation Defender Side-by-Side, Engineered to Outperform

On August 17, 2025, BRP Inc. unveiled the Can-Am Defender for 2026, powered by an HD11 999cc Rotax ACE engine delivering 95 horsepower and featuring an all-new continuously variable transmission.
BRP Inc. undertook a ground-up redesign representing its most significant Defender overhaul in years to deliver features attributed to BRP for farmers, ranchers and riders.
The redesign features industry-first double-bonded bushings, 50% larger arched double A-arms, 12 inches of suspension travel, 15 inches of ground clearance, and a doubled 1700 Watt charging system.
Said Julie Tourville, 'At Can-Am, we know that the clock never stops for the farmers, ranchers and builders around the world,' noting the Defender offers convenient service access, longest service intervals, and lowest maintenance costs.
From a competitive standpoint, this launch positions BRP in the utility side-by-side segment and solidifies Defender as highly capable, versatile, and reliable.
