The Spanish police dismantled "a criminal organization" in Ceuta that charged up to 900 euros to "vulnerable migrants" to sleep in garages or collections, in addition to threatening them and promising them a transfer to another part of Spain.
The Spanish police announced on Wednesday the arrest of two persons suspected of having exploited migrants in Ceuta, asking them to pay improvised accommodation in garages, under conditions considered to be particularly precarious. Suspects arrested "have obtained significant financial gains taking advantage of the particularly vulnerable situation of migrants recently arrived in the city," the police said in a statement.
