An analysis of 120 jureles, sardines, salmonets and hake has identified 81 contaminants in Mediterranean fish, from plasticizers and pesticides to drugs and industrial substances. The surprise is that 41 were metabolites and many appeared without trace of the chemical compound from which they came.
