$800M Janicki Industries Facility Breaks Ground in Great Falls
The plant is expected to add about 2,000 jobs over the next decade as the company expands its manufacturing footprint.
On Friday, Janicki Industries broke ground on an $800 million manufacturing campus at AgriTech Park in Great Falls. The 1.6 million-square-foot facility is expected to create 2,000 jobs over the next decade.
This $800 million investment draws comparisons to the historic Anaconda Copper Company, which once processed a third of the world's copper supply. Great Falls Historian Ken Robison notes the city has long sought to replace industrial jobs lost when the smelter closed decades ago.
Development Authority President Brett Doney called it the city's largest investment regarding jobs and wages. Mayor Cory Reeves said the project gives young people reasons to stay in Great Falls and pursue careers locally.
Montana Governor Greg Gianforte attended the ceremony, stating the state's success in attracting employers from high-regulation regions. He praised local partners for fostering innovation and securing this expansion for the Electric City.
Construction on the first phase will continue through 2027, with the company aiming for full completion by decade's end. The campus joins Janicki's existing operations in Washington and Utah as part of broader expansion strategy.
