Eight restaurants in Laval received a fine from the Ministère de l'Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l'Alimentation (MAPAQ) in May. The total fines amount to $8,000, or $1,000 per establishment. All of these restaurants were punished for the same reason. MAPAQ indicated that these places were "not exempt from any species of animals, including rodents and insects, or their excrement."
