Ricardo Leão says that no family has remained without support and warns that demolition will continue. Still, more babies were born in Portugal in the first half of this year, compared with 2024.
After the demolition in the Military Talude, several families refused the support proposed or did not seek help, revealed the House of Loures, which ensures that solutions have been presented to all affected persons.
"To date, of the 55 families that occupied the early constructions however demobilized, 25 did not go to the social services of the House of Loures," says the municipality in a communication issued today. "The 30 family groups that have been shown to receive social support are composed of 54 adults and 36 children," read the note explaining the social support and some solutions that were presented to families.
The plastic artist Bordalo II demonstrated against demolition in the Talude Bay, in Loures, through the installation of an inspired plate in real estate ads, where the expressions “Demolidor” and “Immobilidor Immobiliario” are read. The protest extended to the Municipal House of Loures, where a similar paper was cited.
The residents of the Talude Military Village refused to leave the area despite the ongoing demolition. This morning, social assistants went to the neighborhood to advise families on how to proceed in this phase. Despite the demolitions, “there are many tents” in the area and there are still families to install themselves in the same neighborhood, as CNN Portugal suggested.
