Las Vegas Woman Charged in Deadly Romance Scam Targeting Older Men

A Las Vegas woman, Aurora Phelps, 43, has been charged with a romance scam involving drugging older men and stealing their money, according to FBI officials in Las Vegas.
Three men have died in connection with the scheme, and Phelps has been charged with one count of kidnapping resulting in death, said Sue Fahami, the acting United States attorney.
Phelps used dating apps to lure her victims, drugged them, and stole hundreds of thousands of dollars, stated Spencer Evans, the special agent in charge of the FBI's Las Vegas division.
If convicted on all charges, including wire fraud and identity theft, Phelps could face a maximum sentence of life in prison, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Nevada.
