A 74-year-old driver died in hospital on Thursday following a traffic accident on the Arlberg Expressway (S16) in the Flirsch Tunnel in the Tyrolean district of Landeck. The car collided head-on with a truck in the morning. The driver crossed into the oncoming lane for unknown reasons, police reported. The Austrian was trapped in the vehicle and freed by firefighters using rescue shears.
