Fleeing Inmate From Osun Jailbreak Arrested in Lagos After Police Tracking
- The Nigerian Correctional Service arrested Kabiru Oyedun, an inmate who escaped from the Ilesa Medium Security Custodial Centre, on May 21, 2025, in Lagos.
- The escape happened after heavy rainfall damaged the prison’s perimeter wall around 2:00 a.m. On May 20, 2025, allowing seven inmates to flee.
- The NCoS, under the leadership of Controller General Sylvester Ndidi Nwakuche, has initiated a search operation in collaboration with allied security forces and local leaders to apprehend the escaped inmates.
