The heavy smell of smoke still filled the air at the Cumberland County Election Commission office Friday morning after a fire broke out sometime late Thursday evening.

The Crossville fire chief said about 40% of the building was on fire, but a team of 65 firefighters was able to get the fire under control in under an hour.

More than half of the building that houses the Cumberland County Election Commission along with the Cumberland County Road Department caught fire last night.
