The boat tipped while being towed from the Charles River, and authorities said all 32 people aboard were accounted for.

  • A Boston Duck Tours vehicle carrying 32 passengers overturned on a boat ramp at 10 Museum Way in Cambridge on Saturday afternoon, though Massachusetts State Police confirmed all occupants were accounted for.
  • Boston Duck Tours Director of Marketing and Sales Tom Vigna stated the vehicle rolled onto its side when the tow rope broke while exiting the Charles River.
  • Witness Gwyn Svec described the scene, explaining that "No seat belts on that thing, so everyone kind of tumbled onto each other" after the 11 injured included one with serious injuries.
  • Following the accident, Boston Duck Tours suspended operations for the remainder of the day and is working with Massachusetts State Police and the U.S. Coast Guard to review the incident.
  • Nearby at the Lynch Family Skate Park, Max Halpern witnessed the fire department respond after hearing a "big crash" and reconsidered his plans to take a duck boat tour.
