Jauan Jennings Stands Out at 49ers Camp, but Another Receiver Leaves with Hamstring Injury
SANTA CLARA, CALIFORNIA, JUL 23 – Jacob Cowing's hamstring injury during the 49ers' first camp practice raises concerns about receiver depth as key players remain sidelined, coach Kyle Shanahan said.
- On Wednesday, July 23, 2025, Jacob Cowing suffered a hamstring injury, Shanahan said, pulling it in warmups during practice in Santa Clara.
- With the wide receiver corps already thin, Brandon Aiyuk continues rehabbing ACL and MCL injuries from October 2024, Ricky Pearsall is on the PUP list, and Jauan Jennings, amid contract talks, caught three passes.
- The practice fields now run east-to-west after being converted from artificial turf, with the camp schedule spanning July 22 through Aug. 3, 2025.
