45 Years Ago--July 25, 1980

Power and phone lines were knocked down, utility poles scattered over Hwy. 92, a teenager was injured and a Nebraska family had a narrow escape when a pole hit their care. It was all part of the storm that hit Platte City Sunday night. The high winds accompanied the first rains to bring relief from 17 consecutive days of 100-degree plus afternoon temperatures.
