(KRON) -- A preliminary 4.4 magnitude earthquake shook in Northern California Tuesday afternoon, according to the United States Geological Survey. The epicenter was about 5.6 miles southeast of Willits in Mendocino County. The quake occurred at 1:10 p.m., USGS said. The depth of the earthquake was 7.8 kilometers, or approximately 4.85 miles.
