41-year-old killed in Milwaukee shooting on city’s north side
Police are searching for a known suspect as investigators examine the circumstances after a 41-year-old was killed in the shooting.
- On Monday, Sept. 7, 24-year-old Nora Winkels died after a hit-and-run crash near North Teutonia and Ruby avenues on Milwaukee's north side. The collision occurred at approximately 11:15 p.m.
- Two separate vehicles struck the pedestrian late Monday night; the first driver fled the scene, while the second driver remained and is cooperating with investigators.
- A 44-year-old bystander who witnessed the crash stopped to render aid to Winkels but was struck by the second vehicle and transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
