3 Men, 1 Woman Identified as Dead After Weekend Bar Shooting in South Carolina
A mass shooting at a large alumni tailgate killed four and injured about 20, with no arrests yet in the ongoing investigation, authorities said.
- Shortly before 1 a.m., gunfire erupted outside Willie’s Bar and Grill on St. Helena Island, killing at least four and injuring 16 others on Oct. 12, 2025.
- Hundreds of attendees at a Battery Creek High School alumni tailgate gathered at Willie’s Bar and Grill as the celebration began on Oct. 11 and continued into early Oct. 12 when violence broke out.
- The Beaufort County Coroner's Office identified the victims as Kashawn Glaze, 22; Sherrod Smalls, 33; A’shan’tek Milledge, 22; and Amos Gary, 54, with one having worked security.
- The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office said investigators are questioning people of interest but made no arrests so far while about 20 people were treated and four remain in critical condition at area hospitals.
- Willie’s Bar and Grill, a community pillar serving Gullah-inspired cuisine, saw a memorial set up on Oct. 12 as the island’s Gullah community of about 5,000 mourned.

Beaufort County CSO to host Q&A on St. Helena shooting
BEAUFORT, S.C. (WSAV) — The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) announced Tuesday that a news conference will take place on Wednesday. Sheriff P.J. Tanner will be answering questions regarding the St. Helena shooting at Willie's Bar and Grill that killed four and injured 20 people on Sunday. The conference will happen at 11 a.m. on Wednesday.
