According to preliminary findings, the killed were between 1 and 14 years old, according to the authorities.
The Shreveport Police Department identified as Shamar Elkins the 31-year-old man who during the morning that caused the death of eight children in the Cedar Grove neighborhood, as well as seriously wounding two women.
