- Clocking 1:31.824, the Briton edged Mercedes's 20-year-old championship leader Kimi Antonelli by 0.011 seconds, with Max Verstappen third for Red Bull and Lewis Hamilton fourth for Ferrari.
- Securing his 19th career pole and third of the season, Norris exclaimed, "It was just one of those laps where everything came together."
- Spanish drivers Carlos Sainz of Williams and two-time champion Fernando Alonso of Aston Martin will start Sunday's race in 17th and 18th places respectively.
