At the end of June 2025, at least 2,752 persons deprived of liberty in prisons in the state of Puebla had no sentence, according to the National Census of the Federal and State Prison System of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi), 262 of whom were women and 2,490 men, representing approximately 37 per cent of all inmates in State prisons, a proportion close to the national average of 36.3 per cent.
