MA State Trooper Dies After Off-Duty Motorcycle Crash In Grafton
The crash remains under investigation by the Worcester District Attorney's Office, and police said few details have been released.
On Monday, Massachusetts State Police announced that Trooper Jacob Mick, 31, died from injuries sustained in an off-duty motorcycle crash in Grafton on Sunday, calling the incident an "enormous tragedy."
Mick, a 2023 graduate of the 88th Recruit Training Troop assigned to the Holden Barracks, previously served two years with the Stow Police Department and is survived by his wife and infant daughter.
The collision occurred Sunday evening at the intersection of Providence Road and Milford Road in Grafton, according to the Grafton Police Department, with the Worcester County District Attorney's Office investigating.
State Police Colonel Geoffrey Noble honored the fallen officer, stating: "He was a proud Trooper and public servant who never hesitated to answer the call." The department mourns his loss deeply.
Grafton State Rep. David Muradian called the crash a "tragic accident" and announced plans to meet with MassDOT officials this week to discuss safety concerns at the intersection.
