SNOWVILLE, Utah, May 28, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — The U.S. Geological Survey reported a 3.1 magnitude earthquake Thursday in Box Elder County’s West Desert. The quake was recorded at 2:58 p.m., the survey said, about seven miles south-southwest of Snowville, a small town just below the Utah-Idaho border. According to USGS, no injuries or structural damage were reported so far. Authorities recommend keeping an eye on alerts that can be received by text messages in emergencies.
