The Platte City Ford Rangers finished first in their league and third in a Kansas State Tournament held in Wichita to claim the third place spot. The Rangers were winning their last game 7-6 in the bottom of the last inning when a young Cubs hitter took one over the fence for a two-run homer that snatched the second place title from the Rangers.
