- Friday night, officers responded around 10:15 p.m. to the 600 block of Chili Avenue, 19th Ward, Rochester, New York, where three Rochester Police Department officers were shot and a suspect was killed after gunfire exchanges near Arnett Boulevard and Thurston Road.
- A caller told dispatch that the ex-boyfriend was trying to break into the home on the 600 block of Chili Avenue and both men were armed, police said.
- Hospital officials and police said one officer was saved by his ballistic vest, another underwent surgery and is critical but stable, and the third is serious but stable; all were treated at Strong Memorial Hospital.
- Authorities said there is no outstanding threat to the public and anyone with information is asked to call 911; the Monroe County District Attorney's office, New York Attorney General's office, and RPD Professional Standards Section opened separate investigations.
- Police said the investigation remains active and they expect to release more information Saturday.
