Man Fatally Stabs 4 People in Washington State as Deputies Head to Serve Him a Restraining Order
A 32-year-old man violated a no-contact order, stabbing four adults before being fatally shot by deputies in a Gig Harbor street, police said.
- Tuesday in Gig Harbor, the Pierce County Sheriff's Office said a protection-order violation led to a stabbing and gunfire at the 14017 block of 87th Avenue Court Northwest, leaving four dead including the suspect.
- Court records show the mother who filed for protection petitioned in April 2025 citing threats and hallucinations by the adult son, and a judge ordered treatment and a 1,000-foot distance in May.
- While deputies were en route, at about 9:30 a.m., multiple witnesses reported the man was stabbing people outside, with shots at 9:33 a.m., Boyd said `We have the adult male suspect who was shot by the deputy`.
- The Pierce County Force Investigation Team said, `We have the adult male suspect who was shot by the deputy`, and EMS transported one injured person while victim identities await notification by the Pierce County Medical Examiner's Office.
- Family members told courts the suspect's mental health was escalating, including statements that he 'recently told her that her grave has already been dug,' and multiple witnesses reported seeing a victim stabbed in the street in front of onlookers.
