Thousands of public-sector employees are gathering in The Hague on Tuesday to protest the Cabinet’s planned social security cuts. Unions FNV and CNV said that about 3,000 have registered so far. Participants include municipal workers, staff from the national government, and universities.
Trade unions FNV and CNV, other organizations, and hundreds of employees are already taking action in the city center on Tuesday, a day before the nationwide public transport strike. Many people have come to The Hague to strike, together with the FNV representing government, home care, education, and research, among others.
