A shocking fraud case has occurred in Istanbul. 35 people were detained on suspicion of defrauding 16 firms in Kuyumcukent by melting down 64 kilograms of gold, claiming they would sell it profitably at their market. Fourteen suspects were arrested in Kuyumcukent (a jewelry district) for allegedly taking 64 kilograms of processed gold from 16 business owners by claiming they would sell it, then melting it down and stealing it.
28 suspects, who allegedly purchased a total of 64 kilograms of processed gold from 16 firms in Kuyumcukent and failed to pay for it, were referred to the courthouse. In the investigation, a freeze was placed on the assets of the suspects, including two brothers.
