Stacker’s list is based on SecondHandSongs data and shows Beatles songs filling much of the top 25, with "Let It Be" leading at 577 covers.
Stacker analyzed SecondHandSongs data to rank the 25 most covered rock songs, revealing the Beatles as the dominant force. Formed by four Liverpudlians in 1960, the band accounts for multiple entries in the top rankings.
John Lennon and Paul McCartney wrote many of the band's most iconic hits during their creative partnership. "Let It Be" stands as the most covered rock song of all time with 577 versions, while "Hey Jude" has 568 covers.
George Harrison's "Something" inspired 567 covers, while "Here Comes the Sun" from the "Abbey Road" sessions achieved 430 versions. Harrison's contributions proved the third Beatle could stand alongside Lennon and McCartney.
Elvis Presley's "Heartbreak Hotel" became 1956's bestselling single, while "Jailhouse Rock" achieved megahit status with 297 covers. Chuck Berry's "Johnny B. Goode" was included on the NASA Voyager golden disc in 1977.
