23 BG City Schools students ace Ohio State Tests last school year – BG Independent News

This past year, 23 students at Bowling Green City Schools aced their tests in at least one subject area. Last week’s Board of Education meeting gave their teachers and principals an opportunity to gush over the students who earned perfect scores. These are the elementary students who showed up to school an hour before their classmates to take advanced classes at the middle school. They are the students who are always asking questions, hungry for more knowledge.  They are the students who keep their teachers on their toes. And they are the students who are born leaders, and like to help others succeed in their classes. BG students who earned perfect scores on state tests. Following are those students at each school.

High school Nathan Keller – American government Middle school Gavin Green – geometry Gabriel Lust – geometry Ruby Mierzejewski – math Natalie Niekamp – math Rano Rakhimova- math Bohan Xu – science Conneaut Elementary Bella Cervantes – English language arts Rano Rakhimova – English language arts Iroha Tashiro – math Joseph Budke – math Tristan Collier – math Liam Duncan – math Declan Koontz – math Molly Tyson – math Crim Elementary Jameson Wolfinger – math Iris Kieffer-Airhart – math Zander Roberts – math Oliver Schetter – math Kenwood Elementary Olive Donhauser – English language arts Hanna Jang – English language arts Anna Julien – English language arts Chyla Lawrence – English language arts Emmett Hanna – math In other business at last week’s meeting, board President Ardy Gonyer said meetings continue to be held to study options for the district’s elementary buildings. “We certainly have not lost sight of that,” Gonyer said. Superintendent Ted Haselman reported that a “topping off ceremony” was held at the new high school construction site, celebrating the last piece of steel being installed in the building. Also at last week’s meeting, the board accepted donations totaling $15,930. Those donations included $10,000 for the district-wide calendar, plus funding for Bobcat Basics, high school math scholarships, high school cross country, lunch accounts, and fifth grade camp.
