Trump threatens Iran amid peace proposal discussions: ‘They will be laughing no longer’
Iran said its reply focuses on ending the fighting and protecting shipping as Trump warns Tehran after a delayed response to the US proposal.
On Sunday, Iran reportedly delivered its response to the United States peace proposal, following a delay that frustrated President Donald Trump. Reacting on Truth Social, Trump wrote that while Iran has spent 47 years "laughing" at the US, "they will be laughing no longer."
Trump blamed predecessors Barack Obama and Joe Biden for enabling the Islamic Regime, claiming Obama delivered $1.7 billion in cash to Tehran and that Iran hit "pay dirt" when Obama became President.
Accusing the Islamic Regime of "keeping us waiting, killing our people with roadside bombs, destroying protests, and recently wiping out 42,000 innocent unarmed protestors," President Donald Trump contrasted this conduct with his administration's "GREAT AGAIN Country" stance.
Iran's response reached Washington via Pakistan before the White House could formally respond, while Minister Benjamin Netanyahu prepared to speak with the President within the hour regarding the developing situation.
Amid the ongoing US war against Iran, Republicans face midterm election pressure from the fragile ceasefire. Critics increasingly claim Israel influences the conflict, though the President has formally refuted this assertion.
