2 fatal motorcycle crashes, drowning under investigation: Kamloops RCMP
Two motorcycle crashes and one drowning occurred on August 23 with victims aged 18 and 60; investigations into causes remain ongoing, RCMP confirmed.
- Kamloops RCMP said investigators are looking into two fatal motorcycle incidents and a drowning in the Kamloops region on Saturday.
- The weekend crashes happened along Barnhartvale Road near Robbins Range Road turnoff and Timber Lake Forest Service Road about 20 kilometers south of Kamloops, killing an 18-year-old motorcycle rider and a 60-year-old motorcycle rider.
- Using a Remotely Operated Vehicle, Kamloops Search and Rescue and partners located the body at 11:00 p.m., and the RCMP dive team recovered the individual on Sunday with support from the Tobiano Volunteer Fire Department and BCEHS.
- Mounties said they are withholding many details as next of kin are still being identified, and one crash tied up southbound traffic out of Kamloops for around 4 hours, according to social media reports.
- Uncertainty remains about whether the drowning occurred in Kamloops Lake or another body of water within Tobiano, KSAR posted on Monday, Aug. 25, expressing condolences to the family and friends.
