$1 Million Reward Offered as Search Continues for Man Accused of Killing Wife Inside a Maryland Dunkin' in 2015

The FBI and Anne Arundel County Police raised the reward to $1 million to prompt new tips in the decade-old case of a fugitive accused of stabbing his wife.

  • Authorities raised the reward to $1 million at a joint press conference, with Shaffer saying 'I would just emphasize that with the increase in the award to $1 million that we hope that someone out there that is familiar with Bhadreshkumar Patel knows his whereabouts, that they are motivated now to come forward with that information and that the FBI will do everything in its power to help them remain anonymous if they so desire.'
  • Anne Arundel County investigators say Palak Patel, 21, was killed inside a Dunkin' Donuts on April 12, 2015, after an argument about her plans to return to India.
  • He traveled to a hotel near Newark Liberty International Airport, checked in around 3 a.m., and was last seen at Newark Penn Station, according to investigators.
  • Anyone with information should call 1-800-CALL-FBI, as Shaffer said, 'Investigators say the public could play a key role in finally locating the suspect', and tips can remain anonymous.
  • More than 300 tips have been logged over the years; Bhadreshkumar Chetanbhai Patel was added to the FBI Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list in 2017 after initial $100,000 and $250,000 rewards, and Palak Patel's family still seeks closure nearly 11 years later.
