16-year-old girl gang-raped by 4 teens, found stabbed to death days later in Delhi
Police traced the suspects through more than 50 CCTV cameras and recovered the tempo and two knives, officials said.
- Delhi Police apprehended four individuals, including three minors, on Thursday for the rape and murder of a 17-year-old girl whose decomposed body was found near Kushak Road on Sep 13.
- The victim and the four suspects were known to each other and allegedly consumed alcohol together inside a tempo earlier this month before the fatal assault occurred.
- Lacking eyewitnesses, police analyzed more than 50 CCTV cameras to identify the vehicle. Investigators launched a night-long search operation between Sep 15 and 16, tracing the tempo despite its obscured registration number.
- The search led police to Khadda Colony in Swaroop Nagar, where officers apprehended the group and recovered two knives and clothing allegedly used in the crime.
- A case was registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and POCSO Act against the adult accused, Shivam alias Sudama alias Chuchu, and three juveniles aged 16 and 17.

The vehicle's registration number could not initially be identified because of darkness, but was eventually traced. Interrogation of the driver subsequently led police to the accused.
