1.5M Hand Warmers Recalled After San Diego Death, Hundreds Of Burn Injuries

- Priced from $15 to $60, the devices were sold on Amazon, Walmart, and OCOOPA from September 2018 through May 2026, including model numbers UT3053, UT3056, ZLS-118, ZLS-118S, ZLS-118D, H01, and H01.
- Consumers should stop using the warmers immediately and contact OCOOPA Direct for a full refund. To process claims, users must write "RECALLED" on the device and submit a photo showing the marking and batch number.
- The CPSC warns that defective lithium-ion batteries must be disposed of differently than other batteries, because they present a greater risk of fire. Owners should contact local household hazardous waste programs for disposal instructions.
