A downtown Weston business owner who lived in his shop was killed in a fire at the structure Monday evening. George M. Treese, 65, owner of Old Geezers Mantiques at 540 Main in Weston, died in the blaze, which was reported at 6:02 p.m. on Independence Day. Weston Police Chief Terry Blanton said Treese made the 911 call to report the fire, but could not escape. Blanton said it appears the fire started at an electric lamp that was in the hallway. …
