A former candidate for Texas House, former Pearsall council members and a Pearsall Independent School District board member are among the seven suspects who turned themselves in to the Frio County jail on Wednesday in connection with a massive state-led election investigation, KSAT Investigates confirmed.

A South Texas vote harvesting investigation is expanding. Nine more people have been charged in Frio County, which is about one hour south of San Antonio. There are now more than one dozen election workers and public officials who have been indicted. This week, two former mayors… one from Pearsall and one from Dilley… were charged. So was a member of the school board. It’s alleged that people were paid to collect ballots and turn them in.
