Dealer Caught with £1m Worth of Drugs Says 'Good Day at the Office'
WEST MIDLANDS, UNITED KINGDOM, JUL 14 – David Sherratt was sentenced to over 12 years for supplying cocaine and dangerous driving after a police chase and seizure of £1.3 million worth of drugs, police said.
- David Sherratt, aged 48, was sentenced on July 7 at Birmingham Crown Court to 12 years and nine months in jail for cocaine supply and dangerous driving.
- His conviction followed a police pursuit in the West Midlands where officers tried to stop his black Peugeot 3008 carrying large quantities of drugs.
- Officers found two Sports Direct bags in his car containing 36kg of cocaine worth up to £1.3 million, and messages showed involvement with 135kg more valued at £5 million.
- Sherratt sarcastically called the seizure 'not a bad day' while smashing his phone to destroy evidence, and Detective Chief Insp Peter Cooke called the haul a major recovery preventing untold misery.
- Sherratt, who has 12 convictions for 19 drug-related offences dating back to 1995, was heavily involved in the nationwide drug trade before receiving this lengthy prison sentence.
