The National Guard (GN) acknowledged that during 2025 115 civilians died as a result of 191 armed clashes in which their personnel used firearms to repel attacks on suspected criminals. According to its Annual Activity Report 2025, transmitted to the Senate of the Republic, the GN is composed, at the close of last year, of 121,247 elements, of which 112,589 are military and 8,658 come from the former Federal Police and trusted personnel.
