On the 8th, one day before the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Hangeul Day, citizens and students visiting the "Sejong Story" located underground beneath the statue of King Sejong in Gwanghwamun Square, Jongno-gu, Seoul, showed interest in the exhibits related to the creation of Hangeul.
This year marks the 580th anniversary of the promulgation of Hunminjeongeum, the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Hangeul Day, and the 100th anniversary of the promulgation of Hunmaengjeongeum (Korean Braille). The numbers coincidentally fall perfectly into place.
