A hundred days after the Bundibugyo Ebola outbreak was declared, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) is facing an epidemic of an unprecedented scale and efforts must grow to contain the spread in the eastern region and across borders, UN agencies warned on Monday.
The outbreak recorded 90 new daily cases; WHO and partners expanded contact tracing from 9% to 84% and set up 19 laboratories; the advance of the virus requires reinforcing vaccination, protecting borders and guaranteeing an armed truce so that health teams can work safely.
