- English actor Nicholas Hoult has reportedly joined HBO's Harry Potter series as Professor Gilderoy Lockhart for the upcoming second season adapting "Chamber of Secrets."
- Originally played by Kenneth Branagh in the 2002 film, Lockhart is a vain, boastful wizard recruited by Albus Dumbledore to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
- Hoult currently plays Lex Luthor in DC Studios' Superman and starred in the critically-acclaimed Hulu series "The Great." His filmography includes Nosferatu, The Menu, and Mad Max: Fury Road alongside four X-Men films starting with 2011's First Class.
- Production on the second season begins this fall with co-showrunner Jon Brown and executive producer Francesca Gardiner, following the first season's scheduled Dec. 25 debut on HBO and HBO Max.
