Minnesota Man Identified as Southeast Idaho Avalanche Victim

The avalanche was triggered by a snowmobiler on a persistent weak snow layer during considerable danger conditions; it is Idaho’s first fatality this season, part of 18 Western deaths so far.

Landon Fox was caught in a 400-foot slide after his snowmobile got stuck on the side of a gulch. Another snowmobiler triggered the avalanche when they tried to reach Fox.
