No one was at home when the fire happened, but a family pet died from smoke inhalation, according to the Lilbert-Looneyville Volunteer Fire Department.

Fire officials are working to determine what caused a house to start on fire near North Fond du Lac last night. Just after 9:30, the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a 911 call from a person at N7402 Lakeshore Drive reporting black smoke filling the residence.
