1,200-acre wildfire in southern Polk County 100% contained: PCFR

A wildfire in southern Polk County closed portions of CR 640 and 555 on Tuesday evening.Polk County Fire Rescue said a 1,200-acre wildfire was burning in Bartow in a grassy former mine pit on Feb. 10. PCFR said no injuries have been reported and no structures are threatened. A gooseneck trailer has burned. The fire is 100% percent contained as of 11:30 p.m. on Feb. 10, according to the Florida Forest Service wildfire map.All roads have reopened.
